Broken Branches
Gouache on panel paintings created at Djerassi artist residency in the remote Santa Cruz mountains in California. After a storm, a seven foot pine branch appeared outside my studio door. For the entire month I made paintings and and drawings the branch. The changing skies refer to the slow evolution of the work and the passage of time.
